Now here’s a true prog/rock delight. Being sort of new to progressive rock I’ve usually never heard of the bands I keep discovering. True also in the case of Bachdenkel. This is one band I certainly wish I’d heard of before - think of all these years not having had the pleasure of listening to ‘Stalingrad’!

Wikipedia states that the band evolved in the late 1960’s, from a combo called “U No Who” - a name that came from the mind of a computer(!). The band settled in Paris and recorded two albums, ‘Lemmings’ and ‘Сталинград’ (Stalingrad). Rolling Stone magazine once called Bachdenkel ‘Britain’s greatest unknown group’.

This album is a bit dark, with melancholic melodies and magnificent vocals which, on some tracks, slightly resembles the older David Gilmour. I really recommend it.

‘Lemmings’ is available on Amazon, you can preview a couple of songs on AllMusic, and you can hear the track ‘The Whole World (Looking Over My Shoulder)’ right here. Enjoy!
